JFF Labs Market Scan on Digital Wallets - 2025 refresh

Hi everyone,

I’m pleased to share JFF’s latest report, Verifiable Credentials Wallets in a Skills-First Talent Marketplace, now available at jff.org/digitalwallets. This report builds on our previous research and explores the evolution of digital wallets, verifiable credentials, and the role they play in expanding access to opportunity.

As before, interoperability is key, privacy is core, and the work of this group to support open, standards-based public infrastructure is crucial to providing all individuals and institutions tools to access new career paths and economic opportunities, especially when traditional systems do not address their needs.

But this isn’t just about learning and hiring. This market scan is an invitation to think about what’s possible and how we can together ensure these technologies are used in ways that increase—not limit—access.
