Dear all, My name is Alessandro Oltramari and I am a post-doc research associate at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh), Department of Psychology. Before moving to U.S.A. in 2010, I've worked for almost 10 years at the Laboratory for Applied Ontology (Trento, Italy), headed by Nicola Guarino, basically focusing on the integration between Ontologies Lexical Resources. I've been co-organizer of the OntoLex workshop since 2004, and I co-edited the 2010 Cambridge University Book "Ontology and the Lexicon - A Natural Language Processing Perspective". My general interests are in applied ontology, cognitive science, computational semantics. Most of my research questions center around how cognitive aspects of knowledge representation are involved in semantic technologies. My research activity at CMU mainly concerns the integration of ontologies and cognitive architectures (computational models of cognitive processes) with computer vision algorithms, aiming at building hybrid knowledge systems for event recognition in the Intelligence domain. Looking forward to collaborating with you all, Best Regards, Alessandro. _______________________________________________ Alessandro Oltramari Researcher Psychology Department Carnegie Mellon University 5000 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15213 Tel.: +1-412-268-6284 Fax.: +1-412-268-2798 Homepage: http://www.psy.cmu.edu/people/oltramari.html
