Context and Help reference to the standard, in authoring tools, is a great idea! Would there be any IP issues on the text of the standard? There seems to be a focus on translating text encapsulated in an image into ALT text, perhaps it would be worth stating that as one application of the ALT Tag. Is it worth looking into an ALT text microformat/metadata eg. location, artist, date, photograph, drawing/illustration?
