Good catch Roberto re synchronization. Good thought on color too. I think the place for that note is as a failure under 1.2.1 citing 1.3.2 and 1.3.4 Gregg -- ------------------------------ Gregg C Vanderheiden Ph.D. Professor - Ind. Engr. & BioMed Engr. Wanna also add somewhere that, if there are two or more people that speak, captions should not rely speaker identification using only different text colour? (this is also an old note that i've send on 2004 at w3c timed textworking group) ----- Messaggio originale ----- Da: "Gregg Vanderheiden"<gv@trace.wisc.edu> Inviato: 24/02/06 0.45.33 A: "w3c-wai-gl@w3.org"<w3c-wai-gl@w3.org> Oggetto: New Caption Definition - please comment CAPTION text that is typically presented within or below an audio-visual presentation that provides not only the dialog but also sound effects and sometimes speaker identification. NOTE: In England and some other countries the term "subtitle" is used to refer to captions. In other countries "subtitle" is used for dialog only, and captions is used as the term for dialog plus sounds and sometimes speaker identification.
