FYI. The planning page for next week's Paris CSS face-to-face includes a proposed agenda item # Discuss creation of a Fonts Task Force http://wiki.csswg.org/planning/paris-2013#proposed-agenda-items This was queried by John Daggett on the CSS list, and received this explanation from Dirk Schulze at Adobe: I added this agenda item as a follow up to the decision to create one during the CSS F2F in Hamburg. Maybe it is just an organization issue, but we spend several weeks on discussions about font issues. A TF on the other hand would be structured around fonts and font experts with more focus. I would even suggest to give the TF the right to make decisions and just leave a veto right to the CSS WG (discussions remain on the TF though). I am fine with discussing this on the mailing list instead or move the agenda item to our TPAC meeting. I've already responded, noting that the make-up of such a task force would be likely to overlap considerably with that of the Webfonts WG, and wondering whether there might be formal role that we could play in such an initiative. Perhaps this is something on which Vlad and Chris might comment? JH PS. Chris, can you post a link for the sign-up to express interest in Adam's proposed webfont profile community group?
