RE: Standing agenda

Attendance (12): Alastair Campbell, Avon Kuo, Bruce Bailey, David Cox, Duff Johnson, Francis Storr, Giacomo Petri, Gundula Niemann, Laura Oakly, Mike Gower, Patrick Lauke, Scott O’Hara.

Next Friday is a holiday for many people, and attendance expected to be light. I will host the call but anticipate that I won’t feel like we have quorum for anything the least bit controversial.

We briefly discussed Reflow<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NhXS0Gfdsgl67pIhK0BYmayTq_v45CJMP0Ve36Uui3Q>. Scott is working on some proposed changes to Understanding, but does not anticipate that being ready for TF approval by next week. We will probably have a substantive reflow discussion on April 5th. (Regrets from me and Gundala for that call.)

We have settled on defaulting to lowercase success criteria and criterion, but nothing to be too pedantic about for now. Mike Gower anticipates a multi-file PR for a global search-and-replace, but it’s not a high priority.

A question came up about referring to WCAG 2 versus 2.2. In text, no decimal is the preference. For links, even regarding older SC, use 2.2 as that will use the most current resources. Somewhat relatedly, we had another short conversation that it is better for Understanding documents not to use the SC number.

  1. Review ‘For discussion’ items (Items distributed to WG for consideration, but need discussing in a TF meeting).
     * Improve readability of Understanding 2.5.8 - target size minimum text by MrFirthy · Pull Request #3699<https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/3699> – minor editorial, Sent for WG approval.

  * Broken link fixes to 2.2 documents by fstrr · Pull Request #3481<https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/3481> – Francis optimistic about advancing back to Drafted status.
  * Chore: update/correct all links in understanding and techniques docs by patrickhlauke · Pull Request #3738<https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/3738> – Francis also working on this one.

  * Update W3C staff contact from Michael to Kevin by fstrr · Pull Request #3751<https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/3751>

     * leave in Drafted, if discussion was not concluded satisfactorily:

Subject: Standing agenda

Hi TF members,
I missed last week, but given Alastair’s email that we’re extending this cycle one week, I think it makes sense to go with our standing agenda today. I’ll ask for other agenda items at the start of the call.

  1. Review ‘For discussion’ items
  2. Review ‘Drafted’ items (30 min), either:
     * move back to In progress, with more work to do
     * move to Ready for approval, if there is general agreement the issue is sufficiently resolved
     * leave in Drafted, if discussion was not concluded satisfactorily
  3. Review ‘To do’.
  4. Time permitting, items of interest to participants, including open discussions.
