Meeting called to order 12:03 UTC Chair: David Filip Attendance: Lucinda Lewis, Soheil Roshankish, Ben Whittam Smith, Beatriz Esteves, Rana Saniei, Andrés Muñoz, Joaquin Salvachua, Gabriel Huecas Minutes from June meeting: https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-odrl/2020Jun/0001.html Agenda: https://github.com/w3c/odrl/projects/1 < https://github.com/w3c/odrl/projects/1> Only erratum #303 was discussed https://github.com/w3c/poe/issues/303 Options a) and b) from Michaels email https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-odrl/2020Jun/0003.html were discussed as well as a third option detailed by Michael in Issue #10 < https://github.com/w3c/odrl/issues/10> https://github.com/w3c/odrl/issues/10 Details of subclassing "golden three" (Permission, Prohibition, Obligation) were discussed with focus on processing requirements for "consequence" properties of a Duty https://www.w3.org/TR/odrl-model/#duty Consensus was that the "consequence" property is optional (cardinality zero, one, or more) and a Profile may define a more suitable consequence-like property in its own Duty subclass if necessary and without violating the current ODRL provisions. According to Michael, there might be other possible subclassing issues that were not discussed. David stated that there seems to be insufficient technical input from experts to warrant change to a major normative provision of the current (2.2) ODRL Information Model Recommendation https://www.w3.org/TR/odrl-model/#policy Ben also advised to be conservative on this issue. Michael proposed to implement option a) in the Profile BP document https://w3c.github.io/odrl/profile-bp/ encouraging maximum reuse of "golden three" before subclassing or adding Rule subclasses that are not "golden three" subclasses. Michael will encourage the CG expersta and the wider implementer community to provide feedback, especially if they have trouble fulfilling the Policy class requirement to use at least one of the "golden three". UPM representatives requested prioritizing UPM DUC-ODRL presentation for the August 3 meeting. Actions: 1) Michael to edit Best Practice document to reflect option a) and issue a call for dissent to implementers 2) Renato to schedule UPM DUC-ODRL presentation as a priority item for the August 3 call Meeting adjourned 12:58 UTC Cheers dF Dr. David Filip =========== ISO/IEC JTC 1 PAS Mentor | Convenor, ISO/IEC JTC 1/AG 3 Open Source Software | Convenor, ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42/WG 3 Trustworthiness of AI | National mirror chair, NSAI TC 02/SC 18 AI | Head of the Irish national delegation, ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42 AI | Chair & Editor, OASIS XLIFF OMOS TC | Secretary & Lead Editor, OASIS XLIFF TC | NSAI expert to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 38 Cloud Computing, ISO TC 37/SC 3 Terminology management, /SC 4 Language resources, /SC 5 Language technology | Chair Group Member, Unicode CLDR TC/MFWG | GALA TAPICC Steering Committee Member Spokes Research Fellow ADAPT Centre KDEG, Trinity College Dublin Mobile: +420-777-218-122
