there's not much information available yet, we had a discussion about that at the F2F and collected some initial set of values for some and will use the EBU classification schemes where existing, and there's an action on Joakim to come up with a proposal.

thanks for your comments.



I think that the creator of a collection/feed can be represented using ma:creator, when the context of the annotation is the URI of the collection/feed. As you are probably aware, we are in the process of defining roles for creators and contributors.

Sorry, I was not aware of that and hence did not not point Matthias to that information. Is there a pointer about the decision to define roles, or at least the discussion?

So it might be useful to introduce a specific role for that purpose, although I'm not sure what it would be called.



Concerning your previous comment about the mapping the uploaded in YouTube: couldn't we map that to ma: publisher?

I thought a little about the idea of capturing the information about the creator of a collection or a feed within the Media Ontology.

To date there is actually no element within the Media Ontology that could capture such information. A collection or feed creator property could be mapped to the ma:author property but that would cause overlaps with the values for the creator or authors of singe media entities (videos, images etc.) and thus it would not be possible to search for a creator of a collection specifically.

Therefore I want to discuss the idea of introducing a distinct Media Ontology property for the creators of collections / feeds / playlists.

A possible use case where such a property might valuable can be found within the Youtube context for example where users can create several feeds and playlists and somene might be interested to search for the playlists / feeds of a certain user because he is known to create very popular and liked playlists.

I'm looking forward hearing your opinions.
