Hi, I've made some recent progress with the authoring guide and just wanted to let people know what has happened with it so far. http://dev.w3.org/html5/html-author/ Introduction I've made some updates to the text in the introduction, trying to explain what HTML is and describing some of the common use cases for it. Some of this was updated based on feedback I'd received at TPAC, asking for it to be simplified more and aimed at people who may have no prior experience or understanding of HTML. It's still very much a work in progress and I'm also waiting for gsnedders to make his contributions to this section, as he agreed to do at TPAC. http://dev.w3.org/html5/html-author/#introduction Categories I've incorporated the element category descriptions from the spec, but have significantly rewritten them in more simplified language and included notes to help authors understand the relationships between the categories. http://dev.w3.org/html5/html-author/#categories Element Descriptions I've included more element descriptions into the document and begun simplifying their descriptions. Much of this was copied and pasted directly from the spec and still includes a lot of stuff that will be removed and rewritten. Not all elements have been included yet either. http://dev.w3.org/html5/html-author/#the-root-element -- Lachlan Hunt - Opera Software http://lachy.id.au/ http://www.opera.com/
