Re: Doodle for DXWG Plenary Meetings from March 28th until October 10th of 2021

Caroline, can you please give the hours in UTC that you want to suggest in the poll? Is it 21, 22, 23, or 20, 21, 22? The minutes from the last meeting say the latter. Those times should be constant, as UTC is independent of daylight savings. Without seeing the UTC times, I can’t determine whether Doodle is correcting for the change or not.

Looking back at the minutes, it appears we were aiming for 20:00, 21:00, and 22:00 UTC. Those will map to 1:00pm, 2:00pm, and 3:00pm in Pacific Daylight Time, so it does indeed seem that Doodle is accounting for the daylight savings change after all.

I think the only way to be sure we are talking about the same times is to talk about UTC.

We “spring forward”, so what we had previously called “1:00” becomes “2:00”. For the U.S. and Europe, the poll is showing us times one hour earlier than they will be in the near future.

As a Pacific time dweller, it showed times one hour later than it will be after the time change this weekend. For folks in Europe, where the time change happens later this month, you may have to make the same mental adjustment to the poll.
