Hi Sam, I am open to join or partner with the existing foundations to establish The United Humans organization, but it would not be my favorite way to do it because of the following reasons: - "Principles" reason. Fundamentally/historically it would be much "cooler", if The United Humans organization is founded by the individual humans directly, not through intermediary organizations. - "Approach to business" reason. I would like The United Humans organization to have very functional/practical approach, to have focus on the shipping of tools and services that help people better cooperate. Many foundations have dogma-like approaches (e.g. achieve 100% decentralization before shipping the product, use only free open-source software in the development process, support only 100% philanthropic projects.) I am not saying that these approaches are not correct in the long run, but that may become a barrier at the beginning of UH operations. The less bureaucracy and procedures the better. Personally, I stumbled upon the need to create Kudos and The United Humans because I wanted to create a humane social networking service [1], and this is what I want to have as a person first of all, Kudos and UH are just the means to it. - "Vision" reason. If The UH vision is correct, then it will outgrow any of the existing foundations, hence there is no point to confine it to them even at the beginning. - Communication overhead. I simply did not have time and contacts to communicate with them. If anyone would like to help with it I will very appreciate this. After all, good established foundation may help a lot indeed. - Greed) Maybe I just did not want to share kudos with other foundations, and all of the above reasons are just my rationalization of this human emotion. After all, I am just a human))) -Bohdan [1] - Humane social networking service - https://community.humanetech.com/t/is-it-all-about-envy-trying-to-flash-out-the-main-beef-the-root-cause-of-issues-that-people-have-with-social-media/2456/18?u=drabiv ---- On Tue, 18 Dec 2018 17:16:37 +0200 Sam Chase <samantha@venn.agency> wrote ---- > Have you ever considered joining your initiative to one of the many established groups in our extended community? Funding new initiatives that aim to achieve similar goals or solve similar problems is an uphill battle. I’ve got $10M backed for a data sovereignty education prize but finding people to collaborate with effectively was far easier when I decided to join and collaborate and not crusade a new foundation. I only say this because finding money was super easy. Finding smart people that care about the problem space and have the headspace and capacity to fix it isn’t something money solves. In fact it attracted a ton of assholes to me and I told the family that put up the money that the initiative would wait until a more I could find established community of peers. > > > Sent from my iPhone > > > On Dec 18, 2018, at 4:39 AM, Bohdan Andriyiv <bohdan.andriyiv@validbook.org> wrote: > > > > Hi Gregg, > > > > It is not a corporation, because it does not have shares, it is not created for profit and it is not going to be owned by anyone. > > Also, it is not a usual foundation, because investors in Kudos will invest in them primarily because of their self-interest - to earn profit on Kudos appreciation; not because of the philanthropic motives, although they may also play a role. > > > > In a sense, it is going to be a Global Central Bank, that will issue money directly to the people of the world and will be controlled by these people. The "by-product" of this bank's operations is going to be the set of core cooperation tools and services with the purpose to make cooperation between humans more optimal (reliable, transparent, efficient), protect human rights, well-being and digital sovereignty. > > > > -Bohdan > > > > > > ---- On Sun, 16 Dec 2018 23:35:21 +0200 Greg Kidd <gregkidd@gmail.com> wrote ---- > >> I wasn't clear whether this is corporation or a foundation .... > >> On Thu, Dec 13, 2018 at 10:27 AM Bohdan Andriyiv <bohdan.andriyiv@validbook.org> wrote: > >> > >> > >> -- > >> Greg Kidd > >> > >> > >> Hi all, > >> > >> I am raising seed funds to establish The United Humans organization. > >> > >> The purpose of The United Humans organization is to create and maintain the set of core cooperation tools and services, > >> that enable human digital sovereignty, protect human rights and well-being, make human cooperation more effective, transparent and reliable. > >> > >> More details are in the attached pitch deck. > >> > >> -Bohdan > >> > >> > >> > > > > > > > >
