Thank you for your comments on the 2006 Last Call Working Draft of the
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0

interest that you have taken in these guidelines.

constructive comments, and sometimes addressing one issue would cause
us to revise wording covered by an earlier issue. We therefore waited
until all comments had been addressed before responding to commenters.

I think you should make a VERY clear statement regarding the
recommended use of CSS methods (DIVs and such) over tables when it
comes to page layouts. There are many discussions over this matter....

While WCAG 2.0 does not forbid the use of layout tables, the working
group does discourage their use. The working group does not provide
techniques about how to use layout tables, but has added an advisory
technique to SC 1.3.1 titled, "Using CSS rather than tables for page
layout" to describe this issue in greater detail.
