Sorry for being a bit thick, but, there's no mechanism with XProc or Calabash for working with an XML Catalog is there? I've tried adding xhtml catalogue within oXygen but it appeared to make no difference.

Is Calabash integrated with oXygen such that oXygen's catalogues are 'referenced' when a pipeline is executed?

The W3C servers struggle mightly under the load of validators retreiving the DTDs. Sometimes they time out. If you do it often enough, they'll start replying with access denied.

Put those DTDs in a catalog with a local copy.
