So there are two problems here -- one with SQC, and one with my memory. There are some subtle bugs wrt restriction in the existing SforS, and the WG has approved changes to fix them. I'll try to get them installed ASAP. See the issues list [1] for details, under R-60 and R-42. The DOCTYPE thing is a red herring -- SQC appears to bail and report no errors on schema documents with DOCTYPEs, whether there are errors in the document or not. At least, if I take a document with DOCTYPE which SQC is happy with, e.g. the sForS, and normalize it so all defaults are made explicit, and remove the DOCTYPE, it then fails. ht [1] http://www.w3.org/2001/05/xmlschema-rec-comments -- Henry S.
