Hi,
Testing some derivations, I can't say I find the error messages always
very user friendly (especially in the case of patterns) and I think that
it would be nice to be able to customize the error messages.
This may be done using one of the extensions mechanisms available in W3C
XML Schema: either xs:annotation/xs:appinfo or non W3C XML Schema
attributes in the facets.
In both cases, a customized user message would be included in the schema
end the schema processor could display "A timezone is required for
this date" instead of "value does not match pattern @¤#&$!".
If this proposal would interest some of the editors of schema
processors, we could setup a common namespace to "standardize" such
extensions (like it has be done by EXSLT for XSLT).
