A tiny clarification of erratum 7: "For an external entity, the replacement text is the content of the entity, after stripping the text declaration (leaving any surrounding whitespace) if there is one ..." should read: "For an external entity, the replacement text is the content of the entity, after stripping the text declaration (leaving any following whitespace) if there is one ..." Reason: It is necessary for a text declaration being the very first entity in a document. No leading whitespace is allowed. (Only a byte order mark or some other container markup which must not be treated as part of the document stream might appear before it, but must be stripped off by the application which processes this encoding schema.) -- ===================================================================== Dieter Köhler, M.
