The Web has been a distributed computing platform since it was first deployed in 1991. You just solve problems with it differently than with the OMA, that's all. Haven't you ever used JavaSpaces? Did you feel a need to turn it into an OMA-like system before using it? If not (which I'll assume), then why do you feel the need to do it with the Web?
