Oracle would like to ship local copies of the WSDL 1.1 XML Schemas found below with the next version of Oracle JDeveloper (which among other things helps users create Web Services): http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/ http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/ http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/http/ http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/mime/ The above schemas, as you know, are updated versions of the WSDL XML Schemas published in the W3C Note found here: http://www.w3.org/TR/wsdl#A4.1 The question is whether or not we are legally allowed to do so. Our legal department has examined the information at the top of each schema (which consists of copyrights and disclaimers), and the W3C Note, but neither includes the required information. They are looking for a license or a statement that no license is required. I know that there are other tools that ship the WSDL 1.1 XML schemas, and it would be a significant inconvenience to users trying to create Web Services with our tool if we are not able to ship them. If there is anyone out there that can speak to this licensing issue or point me to the correct contact, I would very much appreciate your help. I'm looking forward to working with 2.0!
