Gérard, we should probably turn this SVG into a test. > > ~fantasai Elika, Here's a modified version of your original test: basically with more colors, more digits and "ventilation" between <text>s for more differentiation: http://www.gtalbot.org/BrowserBugsSection/CSS3WritingModes/obsolete-writing-modes-vs-direction.svg The only difference I can see between Firefox 44.0a1 buildID=20150930044255 and Chrome 47.0.2522.1 is the start position of the gray "7". In Firefox 44, the gray "7" starts at alphabetic baseline while in Chrome 47, it starts at text-top. Gérard
