The embedded feature request originates from this discussion: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=459959 (see comment #1, too). Except from that, I e.g. wrote a calendar (showing 1 month at a time) for bookings that gets embedded, too. The standalone version should display logo on top (together with some organizational stuff) whereas embedded view should display the logo in the lower right corner. Valid use cases? Pages are pretty much never designed to work both when embedded and when not.
