It's also worth noting that these properties are intentionally generic to apply beyond flexbox. Their canonical definitions are in the "box alignment" spec: http://dev.w3.org/csswg/css-align/ (In addition to justify-content, align-items and align-content which you brought up, you may not be surprised to find out that there are also "justify-items" & "justify-self" properties in that spec, which are symmetrical with the "align-items" & "align-self" properties that you're already familiar with.) ~Daniel
