(Moving to www-style.) So, the 2013-03-19 css3-values ED has: 1. Normative text saying that viewport units are based on the initial containing block 2. A note saying how Paged Media defines the ICB to be based only on the first page. I’ve been bringing up repeatedly the issue of viewport units vs. @page rules, but it’s even more tricky than I initially though. At this point I think that 2. will not end up being accurate. I’m not even sure about 1., since the term "ICB" is so overloaded in Paged Media (we might need multiple terms defined differently.) We’ll need more time to solve this issue, but I don’t want css3-values to be blocked on that. Still, I don’t want css3-values to be published with statements that will turn out incorrect but hard to change. Suggested change: css3-values defines viewport units to be based on a rectangle that is the ICB in continuous media, but undefined by css3-value in paged media. (css3-page is expected to define it.) (Any media is either continuous or paged, right?) In particular, remove any mention of the first page. -- Simon Sapin
