Hi, Issue-12 of the Candidate Recommendation draft (2005) [ http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-archive/2008Jun/att-0045/disposition-2.html#issue-12 ] for the Color Module 3 [http://www.w3.org/TR/2008/WD-css3-color-20080721] states that the feature to enable #RRGGBBAA and #RGBA annotation for colors was rejected because it was "too late for this version". Its sad to know that such a really useful feature is not been taken into account yet. As every CSS3 version takes many years to get in form, I can imagine that we will see that recommendation around 2015. By that time, most of the sites will be already using the RGBA or HSLA annotation to accomplish color transparency, which will make the #RRGGBBAA recommendation out of time. As you may already know, most of the developers uses the HEX annotation because it is just simpler, shorter, cleaner and widely used in graphical applications. When the community can expect that feature to be recommended (if its accepted)? Thank you!
