Your example will lower the image relative to the baseline of the parent element. It will move a distance equal to 20% of the 'line-height' property (which most often will be 20% of the line height of the line the image forms a part of). Unfortunately, there are no known implementations of 'vertical-align' yet. That should change within a few months.
