I believe that the dropping of the requirement that the value space of a datatype be a subset of LV makes a noticeable change to OWL entailments. In particular, xsd:string rdfs:subClassOf rdfs:Literal . would no longer be valid (true in all OWL interpretations) in the RDFS-compatible semantics for OWL. Peter F. Patel-Schneider
