The patent holders have failed the W3C, repeatedly doing more harm than good. For example, the lack of implementations of the INPUT TYPE=FILE's ACCEPT attribute [1] has held back the web to be less of an interactive medium, more like television than what it is capable of. I wholeheartedly support the Free Software Foundation's suggestion to improve section 3, items 3 and 7 of [2]. Thank you for the opportunity to share this important comment.
