I just wanted to let you know that I am against RAND Licensing or any other model that will allow royalty or fee-based standards to become W3C sanctioned recommendations. The Internet should be maintained with software which does not require additional user payments of any kind. Given the willingness of the Open Source community to write useful code which does not require royalties or fees, any kind of structure which requires a cash outlay is just plain silly.
