As the adage goes, it isn't broken, so PLEASE don't try to "fix" it, particularly not in such a detrimental and shortsighted manner. If future standards are all patented and owned by a cabal of rich corporations, what need will they have of the W3C anyway? It seems awfully like signing your own death warrant. thanks, tom hinton
