Freedom of movement is a basic Freedom granted to all citizens of the U.S.A. and Canada and other Freedom loving countries. W3C standards are not as fundamental as the Freedom of movement but in the realm of communication they are vital. Patents are a quagmire that restrict freedom and they should be steered clear of.
