Dear Sirs, According to Linux Today[1] you are planning to allow W3C recommendations which are covered by non-expired patents. I find that this will reduce the value of future W3C recommendations. I find that protocols and file formats covered by non-expired patents are a serious threath to the future development of the world wide web. I strongly advice the World Wide Web Consortium not to introduce a policy which allws W3C recommendations covered by non-expired patents. Kind regards Jacob Sparre Andersen PS: This letter shall not be considered the official policy of Skåne Sjælland Linux User Group. 1) http://linuxtoday.com/news_story.php3?ltsn=2001-09-30-001-20-NW-CY
