Also worth bearing in mind is that, at least for the medium-term future, almost all the world's WOFFs will be generated automatically by font distributors and font subscription services. For these fonts, fsType bits will be subservient to arrangements made witht the foundry, which would likely include permission to rewrite those bits as the WOFF is generated from standard TTF or OTF desktop fonts. To label these systems 'non-conformant' seems to me absurd. - L
