Hi all, I'm very new to this area but have been following the recent threads with much enthusiasm. It seems to me (as a newbie) that there is a lot of conversations going past each other, and that it mostly seems to derive from different people having different views of what the requirements for an acceptable web font container format are. Has anyone written up such a requirements doc? I've seen Bert Bos' writeup on the "controversy" and some analysis of it, and while it is a good writeup, it isn't what I would consider to be a requirements doc per se. Perhaps if we had such a thing (or even just a list of requested requirements), it would then be possible to see which requirements are mandatory for each interested party, and which are mutually conflicting, which would then lead us to see if we can reach a mutually satisfiable solution to all parties? (I know this is pretty basic reasoning, but still ...) That way we could perhaps divorce the discussion from the existing baggage around previous implementation proposals. If no such document exists, I'd volunteer to write one (I'd also be open to suggestions on where such a document should live). Cheers, -- Dirk
