Re: Agenda: DOM3 Events Telcon, 21 April 2010

Dear James:

My apologies for being somewhat slow in my response--but I wasn't aware
of your message at
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-dom/2010OctDec/0059.html until
today's PF call. And, here we are, a full week past our joint
conversation with www-dom.

Let me summarize the outcomes of our joint meeting last week, as I
recall them. I'll leave it to Doug to correct anything I may have not
quite right.

1.)	There's general agreement from both PF and from WWW-DOM to
proceed with the Apple proposal. We want to proceed expiditiously, in
approximately the same timeline as the DOM3 spec. That means we need to
talk very soon about how to move this forward.

2.)	Because we're agreed on a timeline in parallel with DOM3, we
also agreed that the Apple proposal might be modular. However, we cannot
be too precise at this time as we need to work out the W3C
process/deliverable details. Nevertheless, we're agreed to begin
technical work in parallel with working out the process details. So, we
might, for instance, begin canvassing for a regular telecon time,
communications mechanism (list), etc.

3.)We've agreed our document will need at least two editors. Doug has
volunteered to be one of those. As the one who brought this proposal to
PF, we believe you're a logical candidate to be PF's editor on this
spec. Are you able to do that?

Doug, did I miss anything? Or misstate anything?

James, again apologies for miscommunications re last week's call. I did
try your cell, but sometimes things don't work out, I guess. In any
case, we're looking to organize moving forward with your proposal, which
I think is the part we all care about the most.

Janina
