Hi Martin, I'd like to introduce you to Konrad Lanz. Konrad is a participant in the XML Core and XML Security Specifications Maintenance WGs who recently observed that (a) square brackets in fragment identifiers are found reasonably frequently in "street" HRRIs (or LEIRIs, or whatever they are called now), in particular when some XPath-based XPointer scheme is used, and that (b) the current draft grammar seems to forbid these this usage for no recognizable reason.
