An extension specification can be folded back into the spec, or be maintained independently. ... Both the HTML a11y TF and PF are asked to approve keeping Longdesc independent. ... We expect that the spec would go directly to REC. ... There was one negative vote. The call says that silence is taken as support for the proposal. ... However, i would like to hear your opinions. Jon: By keeping it independent, what does that mean for a practical standpoint on implementation. Janina: We have already implementation that's needed to exit CR. ... Implementation is defined by agreement under plan 2014 that AT can do the work. ... Not necessarily the browser. Gottfried: Little worried about making longdesc less mainstream and less considered by Web authors. Janina: It seems more important to finish this work and make it REC before the HTML5 spec. Maintain control that has been problematic in the past. Also, if we want to make changes to it, it is easier if it is independent. ... Any objection to a resolution in support of the call for consensus? Lisa: I support it (nobody objecting) <janina> DRAFT RESOLUTION: PFWG supports maintaining the HTML Image Description extension specification as an independent specification RESOLUTION: PFWG supports publishing the HTML Image Description extension specification as an independent specification. -- Janina Sajka, Phone: +1.443.300.2200 sip:janina@asterisk.rednote.net Email: janina@rednote.net Linux Foundation Fellow Executive Chair, Accessibility Workgroup: http://a11y.org The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Chair, Protocols & Formats http://www.w3.org/wai/pf Indie UI http://www.w3.org/WAI/IndieUI/
