lightbox pattern and ARIA dialog role - sufficient?

Hi all,

quick opinion poll:

Is ARIA role "dialog" appropriate and sufficient for identifying http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightbox_(JavaScript) or
should there be a more specialized (derived) role in future?

Background: Many use case patterns of lightboxes in the web differ considerably from what is contained in "classy" modal dialogs.
