Hi Bryan, I'm a bit confused by the slash in "modal / popup" since I interpret that as an "or". Not every pop-up dialog is modal; it is modal when it requires interaction (e.g. clicking "OK" or "Cancel") before you can use the main content or UI again. A pop-up dialog that allow you to tab out of it without closing it would be non-modal.
