Hi, Have you checked in the DAISY Knowledge Base? This would be a good question to put forward in the Publishing Community Group. It could make its way into the best practices documentation. Best George Best George From: Louise Lister <Louise.Lister@iop.org> Sent: Thursday, May 27, 2021 8:32 AM To: w3c-wai-ig@w3.org Subject: Using the block quote for magazine-style pull quotes Dear all, I hope anyone can help. We currently use pull quotes for our ‘interview with ..’ pages which pull out a few lines of note from the person interviewed. An example below: This is being picked up in Monsido as missing the cite attribute. From what I can tell then, just using <blockquote> may not be the right markup, although it is having the desired effect. What’s more, we don’t need to cite an external source because the content is being pulled from the page itself. Is there another markup type we should be using that would make it easier? Do I need to ask the developer we need a pull quote class such as is mentioned here: https://www.htmldog.com/techniques/pullquotes/, and would that then mean I then meet the accessibility standard, and I don’t have to include a cite attribute? If anyone can advise, I’d be very grateful. Kind regards Louise _____ This email (and attachments) are confidential and intended for the addressee(s) only.
