RE: WAI needs to address email explicitly

Hi,

This is great to know. I would be happy to contribute samples of poorly behaved emails from large companies. However, I have more than enough on my plate to keep me busy. If there is a spot I should forward emaisls to, I am happy to do at least that much.

Best

George

Hi Wayne, Anna, George,

If you think it would be helpful to have a CG that looks at the question of HTML email, there is already a Community Group that was set up for this task.

The goal at the time was to find out what is actually possible in HTML email, but it makes sense to me (and I am the chair as well as creator) that we use it to discuss what problems people have, too - and obviously that includes accessibility problems.

The group is inactive, so you wouldn't be stepping on anyone's toes in using it, and it might help to bring more focus to what I think is a long-standing issue for W3C.

The group is at https://www.w3.org/community/htmail/ if you want to join it and start using it.

If you think the scope should be adjusted, to fit the range of issues, I think that would be fine and I would be happy to support it.

Cheers

Dear Anna and George,

You have already identified problem areas I hadn't listed. When I was a member of WAI EOWG and then AGWG I found it was hard to notify the groups of problems because the groups would immediately jump to the feasibility of solving the problem.

I am envisioning a Community Group that identifies and classifies problems with technology, specifically software. This group would probably be overwhelmed quickly, because there are lots of bottlenecks. Also, people do report problems that cannot be solved by IT policy.
