WAI-ARIA design pattern for media players

I realize focus is shifting from WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices 1.0 to 1.1,
but does anyone have an inside scoop on what happened to the "Media Player"
design pattern in 1.0?  There's a block dedicated to this widget, but no
content.

I'm almost positive their used to be something there, and I think I may
have even consulted it frequently. Did I just dream that?
