> DF: You may be right here - I would not be against discussing this again in one of the next telcos following your objection - what is the WG protocol in these cases? In the absence of a specific protocol, I too agree that we may have been a bit hasty, and that further discussion is warranted here. Josh and Andrew, can this topic be re-added to the agenda for Tuesday 6/27? Steve has raised valid points which I believe warrant the additional review. Thanks! > The same would be required should advanced web apps draw on fingerprint readers, face detection, voise detection etc (I have not seen any that do that but it seems feasible / likely to happen). These are happening now: "OK Google", (Cortana, Siri, Alexa) for speech input that commences a more complex action (searching), and I now have multiple apps on my cell phone that allows for my thumb-print to "log-in". The future is now :-) JF On Fri, Jun 23, 2017 at 7:00 AM, Shadi Abou-Zahra <shadi@w3.org> wrote: > +1 > > > On 20/06/2017 19:04, Joshue O Connor wrote: > >> Call For Consensus — ends FridayJune 23rd at 1:00pmBoston time. >> >> The Working Group has reviewed and approved a Success Criterion for >> inclusion in the Editor’s Draft: "Device Sensors" with the goal of >> obtaining additional input external to the working group. >> >> NOTE: The resolution was to Accept this SC into editors draft and >> include a note to say that the preference of the group is to alter an >> existing SC rather than add a new one. >> >> SC TEXT: >> >> "All functionality of the content can be operated without requiring >> specific device sensor information unless the device sensor is essential >> for the function and not using it would invalidate the activity." >> >> Survey results: >> https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/35422/Top3_18Apr2017/results >> GIT Hub: https://github.com/w3c/wcag21/issues/67 >> >> The new SC can be reviewed here: >> https://rawgit.com/w3c/wcag21/device-sensors_ISSUE-67/guidel >> ines/sc/21/device-sensors.html >> >> If you have concerns about this proposed consensus position that have not >> been discussed already and feel that those concerns result in you “not >> being able to live with” this decision, please let the group know before >> the CfC deadline. >> >> Thanks >> > > -- > Shadi Abou-Zahra - http://www.w3.org/People/shadi/ > Accessibility Strategy and Technology Specialist > Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) > World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) > > -- John Foliot Principal Accessibility Strategist Deque Systems Inc. john.foliot@deque.com Advancing the mission of digital accessibility and inclusion
