I think it would be better if the techniques used unobtrusive methods of adding events than having an onload event on the body tag. I don't really understand the keyboard accessible JavaScript one, as it's not keyboard friendly other than with user agents that adhere to checkpoint 1.2 of UAAG, in which case there's no need to create a keyboard friendly method. Have you tried the technique with Safari? I don't have access to Safari at the moment, but I read recently that it doesn't automatically initiate an onclick event from the keyboard.
