Dear EOWG Participants: An agenda and logistics for our 4 January 2008 teleconference follow. Time: 8:30am - 10:30am U.S. Eastern Time. For other time zones see: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html Bridge: +1.617.761.6200 / +33.4.89.06.34.99 / +44.117.370.6152, code: EOWG# (3694#) IRC: Channel: #eo, server: irc.w3.org, port: 6665 Scribe: *Henny* or Jack (per www.w3.org/WAI/EO/2003/scribes.html) Agenda: 1. MWBP-WCAG Relationship documents a. Plan for document publications in January For background: - Requirements/Analysis: http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/changelogs/cl-mwbp-wcag - Technical documents: http://www.w3.org/2005/MWI/BPWG/Group/TaskForces/Accessibility/drafts/ED-mwbp-wcag-20071217/Overview.html - Shawn's comments: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-eo/2008JanMar/0004.html - Minutes from 14 Dec EOWG discussion: http://www.w3.org/2007/12/14-eo-minutes#item05 b. Intro page: http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/Drafts/MWBP-WCAG/accessibility_mobile.html For discussion: * Title: We had talked about a shorter title; however the editors feel that the shorter options aren't sufficient - especially given that "accessibility" doesn't have anything to do with people with disabilities for many, especially in the context of mobile. Are you OK with the title of "Making a Web Site Both Accessible for People with Disabilities and for Mobile Devices", or would you strongly prefer a short title with subtitle, e.g., "Web Accessibility and Mobile Phones: Making a Web site both accessible for people with disabilities and for mobile devices"? * Navigation: for the WAI nav bar, we'd like a couple word shortname. How about "Mobile Overlap"? In the information architecture <http://www.w3.org/WAI/sitemap.html>, should it be located under: - "Introducing Accessibility" because it's a basic concept? - "Guidelines & Techniques" because it is introducing the detailed technical documents of the overlap between WCAG and the Mobile Web Best Practices? - "Managing Accessibility">"Implementation Plan for Web Accessibility" because it's about considering both sets of guidelines in your web development process? - "Managing Accessibility">"... Business Case..." because it supports the additional benefit of accessibility? * We talked about putting statics of mobile device use in the first paragraph. Pros and cons? * Alan's comments http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-eo/2008JanMar/0001.html * Any other comments or suggestions? * Do you approve this document for publication? c. Common User Needs: Barriers Experienced by People with Disabilities and by People Using Mobile Devices http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/Drafts/MWBP-WCAG/accessibility_mobile_barriers.html This pulls some information that Alan previously drafted. For discussion: * What changes are needed before publishing this as a draft? 2. EOWG's Previous Comments on WCAG 2.0 Working Draft http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-eo/2008JanMar/0002.html Discuss EOWG replies. 3. WCAG 2.0 Last Call Working Draft review Plan for review discussion in January 2008. * http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2007OctDec/0060.html Regards, ~ Shawn ===== NOTE: If you reply to this email, please change the subject line. If you are sending regrets, add "Regrets" to the front of the current subject line. If you are commenting on a document or topic, put the document title or topic in the subject line. Thanks. * Upcoming EOWG teleconference schedule with topics: http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/#meetings IRC reminders and tips: - IRC is supplemental to the call. Some participants do not have IRC.
