As partial fulfillment towards the "updating the test plan" new work item of the updated workplan, and in an attempt to make my AUWG test plan somewhat less onerous, some preliminary thoughts are following: Thanks and best wishes, Tim Boland NIST ------------------------ Preliminary Possible Simplifications to Test Plan ---------------------------------- Conformance Level A - 0. General - Since an item is aiming for Level A conformance, if any SC not satisfied, stop, go no further? Or can they skip around and come back to it later? 1. Combine SC1.1 and 1.2, since they both refer to ISO16071 "core" in different ways (one is authoring interface and one is editing method)? 2. Combine the subnumbered items of SCs 2.2, 2.5, and 2.6 since the only thing that is changing is the preceding clause (in 2.2 it is "for every referenced format", for 2.5 it is "for all content generated by the tool", and for 2.6 it is "web content bundled or preferentially licensed") - Refer to WCAG level 1 in positive sense? 3. Combine the subnumbered items of SCs 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3 since these are all referring to WCAG level 1 in the negative sense (violations of WCAG)? --------------------------------------------- Conformance Level AA - 0. General - Since an item is aiming for Level AA conformance (after satisfying level A conformance) , if any SC not satisfied, stop, go no further? Or can they skip around and come back to it later? 1. Combine SC1.1 and 1.2, since they both refer to ISO16071 "primary" in different ways (one is authoring interface and one is editing method)? 2. For SC3.8, take subnumbered items 1-22 and combine with #2 previous (SCs 2.2, 2.5, 2.6) 3. For SC3.8, take subnumbered items 23-45 and combine with subnumbered items in SCs 4.2, 2.5, and 2.6 (refer to WCAG level 2 in positive sense) 4. Combine the subnumbered items of SCs 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3 since these are all referring to WCAG level 2 in the negative sense (violations of WCAG)? ------------------------------------------ Conformance Level AAA - 0. General - Since an item is aiming for Level AAA conformance (after satisfying levels A and AA conformance), if any SC not satisfied, stop, go no further? Or can they skip around and come back to it later? 1. Combine SC1.1 and 1.2, since they both refer to ISO16071 "secondary" in different ways (one is authoring interface and one is editing method)? 2. Take subnumbered items in SCs 2.5 and 2.6 (refer to WCAG level 3 in positive sense) 3. Combine the subnumbered items of SCs 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3 since these are all referring to WCAG level 3 in the negative sense (violations of WCAG)? ---------------------------------------------- NOTE: I'm sure there are lots of other simplifications and duplications possible.. I've just started to look..
