RE: To translate to Burmese

Hello,

Coralie Mercier may reply to you about the translation of W3C Recommendations and Notes, but I thought I would suggest some of the articles that I am responsible for at http://www.w3.org/International/ since it would be great to have some of those available in Burmese, and maybe particularly useful for the development of Burmese on the Web.

You can find a list of these at http://www.w3.org/International/articlelist

If you decide you would like to translate one or more of these, please follow the instructions at http://www.w3.org/International/2004/06/translation Note in particular that we host translations of internationalization related articles on the W3C site, and that you need to get me to send you the source text that you are interested in.

Also, we use UTF-8 on the W3C site, so could I ask you to use the Unicode 5.1 approach to Myanmar? (ie. use U+103A MYANMAR SIGN ASAT and the dedicated medial consonants as described in http://rishida.net/scripts/myanmar/#unicodechanges and the Unicode Standard v5.1) This will help ensure that the translation can be read easily in the future.

Hope that helps. Feel free to ask if you need more help.

Best regards,
RI
