Yes, "ua" is a country code, and "uk" and "ukr" are language codes:
http://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/php/code_list.php
Could you ask Bert to use three-letter language codes instead?
Hopefully it will lead to less confusion for UK and Ukrainian readers.
