Hi Peter, Danny et al A while back, when we worked on sheltefinder.org rdf schema, you kindly made yourself available to teach me how to go about implementing it. I downloaded Protege then, but havent learned how to use it yet I am coming to Amsterdam in the spring, I hope there will be an opportunity there.to catch up. I have been thinking: do we have anough people in the world to set up a series of 'ongoing workshops' and tutorials regarding various aspects of semantic implementations? Would this be a good idea? We all have different levels and angles of expertise/understanding. Some are domain experts, some are good at conceptualization and abstraction, some others are good at implementation , others are tool oriented. It looks to me like the semantic web can only happen when we manage to integrate all this knowledge (the big K) into a view that can be 'browsed' from many angles . Maybe this is one of the ideas behind the UFO project as well. So I think there should be at least one University in every country where people who are working with the semantic web, writing about it, teaching it, learning about it can set up a collaborative 'lab' where they can exchange? A lot of knowledge can be transferred remotely, but other stuff I know I would benefit from sitting in a room with someone knowledgeable, with a computer and an overhead project who can show me how to do things that I need/want to do. I am sure half a day here and there would be useful. Ideally all these good companies and organisations who are members of W3 and have offices worldwide should also be kind enough to share with the semantic communities around them I am currently in Thailand, where there is no W3 member to my knowledge yet, although there was a paper presented at this conference organised by Myliatidis written by two guys at Asian Institute of Technology. In the summer, I will be in Europe (Milan, London, Brussells, Amsterdam). Anyone in those cities who is willing to set up a workshop (I want to learn how to use protege and other tools) would they please drop me a line? Maybe we can find others in the same cities who would like to attend and get something going. If others like this idea, can we just open a wiki page where people can enter details about their location, expertise and availability for regular knowledge sharing activities? Cheers Paola Di Maio
