hi sorry for late comment, and cut into the already resolved point,, and just for information. recently, from several years before, W3C stated to run survey filtering over all CGs and queries open but not active groups, and send follow-up question whether to keep or close to key members, like co-chairs or related WG staff contact (since there is no staff contact assigned to any CG). Survey looks at email flow in mail list of CG or else. For text-tracks CG, WebVTT repository watch is sent, and I believe it will be kept running which results to make its mail list active. (so, will not be listed for inactivity query in near future, I believe...) I'm not sure that the TTCG is active anymore, and there was a separate question on whether the TTCG should be shut down, due to inactivity, in the TTWG call yesterday. > > Thanks, > Gary. > > On Fri, Mar 13, 2026 at 5:27 PM Silvia Pfeiffer <silviapfeiffer1@gmail.com <mailto:silviapfeiffer1@gmail.com>> wrote: > > Hi Gary, > > It's effectively been owned by TTWG already, hasn't it? > What would be the difference? > > Are there any contributors left that are just on the TT Community Group? > > Thanks, > Silvia. > > On Sat, Mar 14, 2026 at 8:07 AM Gary Katsevman <me@gkatsev.com <mailto:me@gkatsev.com>> wrote: > > Hi all, > > As discussed during yesterday's TTWG call, I'm sending out a Call for Consensus based on the proposal: > > Proposal: Transfer ownership of the WebVTT specification to be wholly owned by the Timed Text Working Group rather than jointly owned with the Text Track Community Group. > > This will simplify maintenance of the spec a bit particularly as we look towards updating it to a Candidate Recommendation Snapshot and ultimately a Technical Recommendation. > > Please indicate your position by replying to this message (either to all or directly to me). > > The review period for this CfC ends on Friday, April 10th, to allow a bit more time for this. > > Thanks! > Gary. >
