I've put together a draft charter for a proposed "Browser Testing and Tools Working Group": http://www.w3.org/2011/08/browser-testing-charter.html The charter is in no way official at this point. It's just a starting point for discussion. It currently proposes that the group will produce standard specs for two APIs: - "Web Driver" API; provides a means to simulate user actions such as clicking links, entering text, and submitting forms (as seen in, e.g., Selenium) - "Console" API; spec for a language-neutral Console interface compatible with the JavaScript window.console object as seen in Firebug, etc. Comments and suggestions welcome. --Mike -- Michael[tm] Smith http://people.w3.org/mike
