Some technical issues from today's VM TF telecon, relating specifically to: http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/BestPractices/VM/http-examples/2005-11-18/ - Default content type? The 'requirements' section currently says that serving RDF/XML content should be the default, where content-negotiation is possible. Danbri would like a config that allows the administrator to decide which is the default. - Use 'DirectoryIndex'? Vivien notes that 'DirectoryIndex' directive could possibly be used instead of some URL rewriting in several recipes. - Use built-in Apache content-negotiation, instead of conditional rewrites? - Use 'Alias' instead of 'RewriteRule'? Danbri wonders if 'Alias' directive can be used instead of URL rewriting. N.B. 'Alias' cannot be used inside per-directory config files. - When need to disable MultiViews? MultiViews is off e.g. in recipe 2 because it interferes with the rewrite rules. - PURLs could be done with 'Partial Redirects'.
